Cisco Router SMTP Alert if line down

I want to setup mail alert if the Cisco Router 2950 line down or other error issue such as traffic busy.
How can i do that? Thanks.

Hi,

this is possible with Cisco IOS Embedded Event Manager (EEM)

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/ps6815/products_ios_protocol_group_home.html

However, it depends on your IOS if this feature is available. See the link below for some sample configuration:
