The most important thing to do is back up the registry.

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/322756

After that, go to

start
run
regedit

find [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\U.S. Robotics\Pilot Desktop\HotSync Manager]
"Ircomm"=dword:00000001

Click once to highlight the key.

The values contained in the key will now appear in the right pane.
Right-click the value you want to modify.
From the right-click menu, choose Modify
change the 1 at the end to a 0

Please, Please, read the ms article so that you feel comfortable changing the registry.

If that registry key is not found, just exit out and let us know.

Look at this registry entry.

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\U.S. Robotics\Pilot Desktop\HotSync Manager]
"Ircomm"=dword:00000001

If it is set to 1, change it to 0
