Please check your Network Configuration from Windows control panel. Make sure you have a TCP/IP network component installed and configured correctly." I have checked and it is there How do I know it is configured correctly? thus the error message goes away? The hardware I'm using is a palm tungstan e2 and a lattitude D830 XP pro

Look at this registry entry.

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\U.S. Robotics\Pilot Desktop\HotSync Manager]
"Ircomm"=dword:00000001

If it is set to 1, change it to 0
