Hi,

I want to make an experts-exchange like points reward system for my forum.
I've tried the Cash mod for both phpBB3 and SMF but that is not what i want.
I want users who posted the thread to be able to reward points to the best answer.

Is there any mod out there that does this?
If not, then how can I implement this feature in my forum?

thanks
shilpi

i used CashMod with phpBB2, sorry I should correct myself.
there's no CashMod for phpBB3 yet.

But anyhow thats not what I need. I need the topic starters to be able to assign points to people who reply back - exactly like in experts-exchange.
What CashMod and similar plugins for SMF do is give points to start a new thread and replies.
I want user to give the points not the system itself.

If there;s nothing out there can I make one myself. Is it easy? and how should i  go about it?

Actually there is a cash mod for version 3 out.
it just isn't really finished

I would suggest using that. and perhaps modifying it a bit to fit your needs.

but their isn't really a way to for say accept an answer and show it with phpbb3 as far as i know.

I don't know about smf

could try this for SMF

there is a shop mod, but i don't know if that is close to a cash mod. plus alot of the mods for SMF are for outdated versions. they might work on the newer versions though.

i have tried the [TOPIC SOLVED] and the Shop Mod for SMF but they're nowhere near what i want.

I don't need to accept a solution, just reward good replies with points like in the sap sdn forums : https://forums.sdn.sap.com/

if you are good with php and mysql you could try modifying those mods to your needs, if not I would post a mod request for the mod you want on phpbb.com no guarentees that it will be made, but Experts-exchange isn't really a place to request mods from, for the amount of time and work put into it isn't worth it, or you might hire a freelance programmer to make it for you. other than that i don't think experts-exchange can be much of help to you
