Why does BlackBerry receive e-mails through my Barracuda when iPhones don't?

I enabled a Barracuda spam filter 300 to filter e-mails going to my exchange server 2003. The iPhones stopped receiving e-mails, while my BlackBerry phone continued receiving. Can someone tell me why please?
Is this an e-mail flow problem? Can someone explain this e-mail flow process to me?

How are the iphones set to receive the mail? Are you using a blackberry enterprise server?

I am using a BlackBerry Enterprise Server. The iPhones use IMAP.

what exactly did you change when you added the barracuda? Are the iphones connecting to the exchange server by IP or a domain name? Did you check to see if the imap server is running on the exchange server?

The IMAP service is running on the exchange server. The iPhones work when I take away the spam filter. I opened ports 25, 80, 53 and 123 on the firewall for the spam filter to function. The iphones are connecting by domain name and e-mail server name.

It was a firewall configuration problem. I had to make sure only port 25 was forwarded to the spam filter.
