Unable to activate Windows XP through ISA proxy, hangs on checking for connectivity

We have imaged a number of machines and are now trying to activate them via the net (telephone activate will take too long as we have about 50 of these pcs). Our ISA proxy allows access to the net but when attempting to activate the activation screen hangs at 'checking for conectivity'. I have tried resetting internet settings in IE but this hasn't helped. We are using port 8080 when proxy is enabled, and are unable to get to the net with out it...
Hope this is enough info!

So activate over the phone, takes about 2 minutes!

Sorry, we've got about 50 machines scattered across the building so this would take ages!

I dont know if this is possible but what about bypassing the proxy server? I dont know how your site is configured but at my old place we had a proxy server but if you manually set your gateway to the router you could bypass it.

This may even be able to be automated via batch file.

Unfortunately we cannot bypass the proxy but thanks for the advice- we've just had top reroll an image out to the affected pc's which has resolved the problem.
