how to convert a video file to .wmv format by using adobe premiere cs3?

hello:

this link exactly talk about my question: (Why do I get a message that says my computer is missing a codec?)
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/player/faq/codec.mspx

So i want to use adobe premiere cs3 to re-generate this file. could some expert here teach a little bit how to do this in adobe premiere cs3?

thank you so much for your help!

If the file is on your local PC it shouldn't default to your browser (IE6) it should default to its default Windows Media Player (any version) as this is Microsoft's own format.
If in a roundabout way you are trying to play a file via the browser it will be looking for WMP on your local PC and if you don't have it or the WMV8 or WMV9 codecs it won't play.
If you're talking about trying to play the file in Windows Media Player and it doesn't have its own codec then it has a bug and needs to be re-installed (not unusual for WMP).
My advice if you want to play a wmv file or most other video files with out all the crap, just install the free Media Player Classic, and you'll never go back. Make sure you get the new Home Cinema Version.

Also if you want to convert the file in CS3 just drop it on the timeline as if you were going to edit it -- but chose to make a movie or share or make a video or whatever it says (I don't have it). Then choose MPEG-2 or MPEG-4 /H.264. Media Player Classic will play all these formats.
