DXF file attachment corrupted via outlook

When i send DXF (Autocad) attachment via outlook, the recipient get a reduced file in size and can not open it. Our mail system use LastSpam Control Center and is controled by a third party (provider).
IE: If the original DXF file have a size of 89.4k, the recipient will get 81.9k file size and unusable (see attach file)

Reported file size is relative to the disk storage.  Drive size (sector size) will cause slight variations in reported size.

I don't know if that alone would point to corruption.

SMTP is supposed to encode to text format...as long as it is handled properly, in theory, the only practical limitation is bandwidth and OS file size limitation.

Have you contacted the 3rd party about possible corruption due to filtering/scanning?

The 3rd party can not help me, but other test reveal that the problem occur only with outlook, for example if i send my attachment via hotmail - no problem.

When the mail is local, the problem occur.
When receiving mail from outside, we can open the attachment as usual

That doesn't necessarily point to Outlook as the culprit.
I use Outlook with no attachment problems in several years.

There are a few things that are removed from the equation when you use Hotmail:

--desktop anti-virus/firewall software
--gateway scanning (SonicWall or similar appliance)
--anti-virus running on the mail server
--anti-virus running on a 3rd-party filtering solution

Disabling these, then turning on one at a time will help narrow down the problem.

The easiest, by far, is to disable the local desktop antivirus/firewall software.

I disabled local desktop antivirus on both side (sender and recipient) and the problem is still there.
The problem, as i said occur when mail is local (in our domain)
We use LastSpam but the mail send to recipent in our domain is not checked with this appliance.

I have people in my domain that are 11 time zones away.
Do you mean on your same LAN, in the same office?

If the message traverses your firewall, then firewall rules (and message scanning) are involved.

I don't know what topology you are using or what mail server.

Unless it is Exchange or Lotus Notes, the message is vulnerable to scanning and disassembly/reassembly when retrieved via POP or IMAP.  More so when it traverses multiple firewalls.

I mean on the same LAN, in the same office
We use ICE mail  ( http://www.iceweb.com/ ) as mail server
I checked the outlook configuration on both machine (one having no problem et the other one having problem) and the options are the same.
By now i have two machine having this problem.

The vendor you stated has a Microsoft-Exchange product (IceMail).
Are you accessing the Exchange account, or via POP/IMAP?

If Exchange, you may be looking at a corrupted cache (OST) file.

Easiest thing to do is to make a new profile, disable cache, then try sending/downloading the file again.  If it works, you probably have a corrupted OST (cache).

If you like cached mode performance, you can create a new profile with cache mode enabled.  A new OST file should be created for you.

Do you have web access to these mail accounts?
To troubleshoot, download the same attachments via the web portal.
If they are corrupted, this points to the mail server.
If not, suspect a firewall or Outlook add-on (like anti-virus software).

I have web access to mail accounts and downloading the same attachment via the web portal using a problematic account work fine (no corruption).
As i said before, i disabled Antivirus software at both side (Transmit and receive stations) and the problem still persist. Should i uninstall this software ?
If firewall in cause, why others stations are not affected ?

At this point, I have only a few recommendations:

1. create a new profile and a new PST file.  this would eliminate possbility of corrupted PST.
2. un-install/re-install Outlook (or Office suite)

Try #1 first.  It will be the quickest.

I was in obligation to stop investigation for a moment but,
I create a new profile (PST file) and the problem still persist.
As soons as possible i'll try the second recommendation.

reinstalling outlook not work - so i reinstalled windows - outlook - now i have no problem !
