Import Contact group to Global Address List

Not too sure if this is possible but, I have 2 distribution lists, created by a user within outlook 2007.  I want to take these two groups and add them to the exchange global list.  To do this manually will take a good deal of time as they are quite large.  Is there any easy way to import a "personal" list into the global?  And if so, is it safe to assume that each person on the global list will need a contact set up in AD?

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Hi, JamesonJendreas.

"Is there any easy way to import a "personal" list into the global?"
Not one that's built into Outlook or Exchange.  You could do it with a bit of scripting though.

"is it safe to assume that each person on the global list will need a contact set up in AD?"
Yes.
