I have a customer who needs to send all email encrypted to one particular customer<br />
they will require three individual users to have this functionality.<br />
All users are using office 2007 and go through exchange, SBS 2003 server.<br />
I believe I need to get a digital ID. &nbsp;I am then a little confused on what the best practice is and do I purchase and install a digital id on the client computers or on the exchange server?<br />

Encrypting emails using office 2007 through an sbs2003 server - to one recipient only

Small Business Server (SBS) is a line of server operating systems targeted at small businesses by bundling the operating system with a number of other Microsoft products that would normally need to be purchased or licensed separately. The most notable inclusions are Exchange, SQL Server, SharePoint and ISA/TMG (Microsoft's firewall and proxy server).

Exchange is the server side of a collaborative application product that is part of the Microsoft Server infrastructure. Exchange's major features include email, calendaring, contacts and tasks, support for mobile and web-based access to information, and support for data storage.

Encryption is the process of encoding messages or information in such a way that only authorized parties can read it. In an encryption scheme, the intended communication information or message, referred to as plaintext, is encrypted using an encryption algorithm, generating ciphertext that can only be read if decrypted. For technical reasons, an encryption scheme usually uses a pseudo-random encryption key generated by an algorithm. An authorized recipient can easily decrypt the message with the key provided by the originator to recipients, but not to unauthorized interceptors.
