Should be exactly what you need.

This is pretty basic.  You need to install an Exchange front-end server on your perimeter network (option when you are installing the Exchange Server).  Establish network connection between this server and the one in your domain.  On the front-end server you must install a websertificate for ssl - traffic.
Remember that the front-end server must be a member of your domain with a public webalias (fi. mail.yourdomain.com). Then you should be able to connect with owa, pda's and so forth.  It is also recommended that you use anti-spam and anti-virus on your server as well.

if you search the Microsoft Technet website (technet.microsoft.com) you will find plenty of whitepapers on the subject.
