need to clear the setup password for nx9420 laptop

One of our field people decided to add a password to enter the Setup of the BIOS and of course forgot what it is. HP can reset it but it requires a service call. Is there a way I can do it? I for see this happening more than once.

Thanks - would like to figure out how HP resets it, think it's lame HP makes you call them.
The modern Laptops of today use a security chip to secure BIOS level Passwords. That makes them really difficult for thiefs to use them, and if most users set their passwords, it should reduce the likeliness of laptops getting stolen. Some manufacturers have a master password that is different for each laptop, with which they can remove the user set passwords, others will change the mainboard.

You'll always have to give the manufacturer proof of ownership (invoice etc).
