HI I got a very unpleasant problem. I just finished my migration from exchange 2003 to exchange 2007. All work good until this morning, all outlook 2007 client start asking for password. Some are on Outlook Anywhere from the external, some on MAPI directly on the LAN. Outlook 2003 client connected with MAPI work good, no problem there. If I click cancel on the password prompt, outlook2007 indicated that I need to enter password, but i can receive and send email.

If I restart the Exchange server, the problem disappear for a while but come back (after 30 min approx). I got not error in the event viewer.

The only thing I do yesterday, is creating a new recovery storage with the exchange 2007 toolbox to "play" with the new recovery option and test my backup procedure. But I don't think that may play a role in this problem.

For now I remove all NTML authentication and replace it by Basic. If I try to restart IIS7, I got timed out but the only warning I got in event viewer are:

A worker process '4460' serving application pool 'MSExchangeSyncAppPool' failed to stop a listener channel for protocol 'http' in the allotted time

I don't know if this error can be in cause...

Thanks for your help

Ok I think I found the problem. I remove all the NTML authentication on ISA server and Exchange server. For now the problem do not reappear.

Then strange thing is why NTML authentication cause problem for internal outlook 2007 using MAPI directly?
