I hve just bought a used Macbook Pro with a built in radeon moblie x1600

I use it for work, and I need to have windows vista running on it. all that's fine, bootcamp does it great

I cannot, however use two displays on the machine, the drivers don't work, I've looked around and not been able to find any drivers that make it work. Here's what happens:

One monitor, works great
Two monitors, only my built in display shows an image, while the other one is detected and displays a blank(black) screen. as if it were sleeping.

On VNC it displays both displays.

I am using ATI Tray Tools, as an attempt, through it, I can get the second display to show the images, but thn I lose the display on the built in monitor.
Tray tools system information while images displaying on the built in monitor.

Yeah this is a common problem. the support for dual displays in windows is not very good. i haven't been able to get mine working.
According to the ATI site, they do not support that graphics card on vista. so it will only be able to use the boot camp drivers. 'Catalyst' from ATI is what is need for dual displays, but they do not provide that for your operating system.

Yeah, I've been looking around for well over a week, and formatted the mbp 3 time already...

On one of them, I was running windows 2k8 server, I managed to install the control panel but it wouldn't open up... on vista, where it should be easier, I haven't been able to get past the cannot install this on your operating system...

rebootd and the control panel was visible, and it detected 4 montiros, I played around enabling the secondary and got the display working propperly...
