Printer software installation problem : HP Laserjet : StubApp has stopped working

Hi,

 I bought a new HP Laserjet M2727MCF and try to install the printer from a CD. The printer is actually on a network. Whenever I try to install the software & drivers from the CD, I get a popup saying StubApp has stopped working and the software wont install.

I checked with the HP business support and their solution does not work!

HP's solution
1. Remove previous HP software versions and
2. Chage settings as  
My Computer > Properties > Advanced > Settings > Data Execution Prevention Tab > Select "Turn on DEP for all programs and services except thise I select" and select the "Add" button to add the Setup.exe installation file of the printer software. Apply the settings and restart the PC

I am running a Dell Dimension 9200 with Windows Vista ultimate on a 2GB RAM, Intel Dualcore processor.

Can someone help me overcome this problem in installation and also tips on how to prevent such errors coming up in the future.

Have you tried downloading the latest driver and software and installing it from your PC instead of using the disk?  I have ran accross many bad disks from printer vendors which I solved by downloading a new driver from the MFG.
