ColdFusion error trying to connect to SQL dbase

I have no rights to the coldfusion server or sql server...they were supposed to have setup my datasource today so that I could connect to the SQL database; however, when i try to run a query i get the following:

Security: The requested template has been denied access to SupportNet.
The following is the internal exception message: access denied (coldfusion.sql.DataSourcePermission MYDNSNAME)

What needs fixed?

what does your query look like?
are you sure you are using a correct dsn name?
are you sure they have actually set up the dsn already?

It's just a simple query, select * from table_a.  <cfquery datasource="MYDNSNAME">.
Using the dsn name that I gave them to setup.
They sent an email and told us it was setup.

well, select * from table should run fine - it does not require any special privileges your host might have disabled...

i suggest you double-check with them about correct dsn setup. ask them to make sure it verifies in their cf admin.

also make sure you are not mistyping the dsn name. like in your above example you are using MYDnsNAME, when it is rather likely that it may be MYDsnNAME (ns vs sn). also, if MYDNSNAME is a cf variable, you must enclose it in ##...

I just used that as the example name, the actual name is SupportNet (case specific).  I guess I will need to check with them today.  Thanks.
