Running Symantec Backup Exec Version 11.0 Revision 7170 on Window Server 2003 R2 Standard Edition SP2.  During daily back up I encounter the following error that fails the backup:  V-79-57344-33916 - An error occurred retrieving System State files. The System State file could not be backed up.

Additional information on the error:

e000847c - An error occurred retrieving System State files.

Any ideas on what might be causing the issue?

Thanks

Hi !

Select shadow copy components and not the system state.
Try backing up system state using NT backup and verify results.

Reboot the server and verify results.
