Rpc over Http error. W2003 sp2 Exchange server 2003 Sp2

Having configured rpc over http on W2003 sp2 & Exchange Server2003 sp2 single server environment and done registry editings as reccommeded , my rpc over http is not working internaly&externaly .SSL certificate  is from Microsoft Certificate Services.Owa is working internaly and externaly.When i try to access RPC internaly ( https:/servername /rpc ) i get security alert with the following error "the name on the security certificate is invalid or doesnot match the name of the site" and  HTTP Error 401.2. or HTTP Error 401.1

please suggest a way out...
