tiff error
I support a user whose outlook froze, upon rebooting the computer she could no longer open . tiff attachments. she is prompted with an error file could not be created, check permissions on the folder.
Details.
First system restore not possible no restore points available
Other attachments open fine .doc .xls
You are unable to open save or print the .tiff attachments
If you copy the .tiff file from another computer and save it to hers it opens fine in Microsoft imaging
I tried opening the files in adobe reader and it said they were not properly decoded.
We are working with outlook 2003 I am currents backing up her pst which is stored on her local machine. I will eventually reinstall outlook as a repair installation did not work.
Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated, the tiff files are virtual faxes that are a big part of the users job. She offered me free lunch if I can fix it.

did you delete all files in the temp folder?
you should be able to open the tiff file from outlook after you delete all tiff files in the outlook temp folder.

wait... i didn't read your post carefully... you mean you can't see the files when you go into the temp folder?
you can try to use this free tool http://www.howto-outlook.com/products/outlooktools.htm .. there is an option to clear out the outlook temp folder...

You are the best, I read some of the resources you provided, I found if you type %temp% in the run box you will be able to see the olk folder in the temporary internet files folder. Once in the folder i deleted the the 99 files and got a free lunch. Thanks for your assitance.
