Can the "MySQL Query Browser" query an MSSQL database?

apolgies if this appears a daft question but:

Can the "MySQL Query Browser" query an MSSQL database?

It is just that I am looking for a method of querying MSSQL databases from a Linux machine (preferaby opensource as it is cheap)

no, mysql query browser cannot do that.

you can talk to a ms sql server from unix platforms, though:
http://www.cs.washington.edu/lab/sw/everywhere.html

i am not aware of a unix-based management tool for ms sql server.
