Using curl to submit PayPal form

I am trying to submit a form to PayPal using the curl library for PHP. I've tested submitting the form as a standard web form with success but when trying to use curl to submit the form, the main log-in page is returned instead of the page that allows a customer to fill in credit information or login to their account.

Is it at all possible to submit a PayPal form using curl or does PayPal just prevent forms from being submitted by this method? If it is possible to use curl, are there any extra considerations to take to ensure it works?

According to my information, Paypal is not supporting this feature currently.
