What's the exact error message?
How are you trying to open it? From an attachment?
Does it happen with any ADT?

The error message is " cannot open file"
I tried double clicking on the file itself and opening it through the application.
It happens with all the ADT files and ACT version 6.03 is being used

You might need to re-add the fill association similar to this article - http://tinyurl.com/5k5jee

But ADT and (not sure) either ACT! or Word.

What version of Word are you using?
What operating system?
What anti-virus?
