Squid - Where to change LDAP auth settings?
Posted on 2008-10-22
We have an old CentOS system running squid using LDAP to authenticate to a Mac OS X 10.4 server for access out to the internet.
The problem is two fold.
1. I did not configure the original proxy server and as such have no idea how it works
2. We have migrated our Mac server to a completely different box running 10.5.
Proxy authentication is no longer working. I have had a look through /etc/squid/squid.conf and was unable to find a section indicating where it would authenticate to. The only thing I could find was LDAP Authentication settings within CentOS itself.
The settings are:
base dn: dc=host,dc=name,dc=com,dc=au
The server name has the exact same IP address and the exact same FQDN. I am really not sure as to if squid relies on the OS for its LDAP lookups or if there is a explicit paramater in a config file somewhere.
I am not familiar with LDAP so I guess the base DN could have changed?
Any help would be appreciated.
