is there any alternative to WINDOWS SYSTEM RESTORE
well u may think why i am first of all asking this question

when there is a built in SYSTEM RESTORE available in windows

well the simple reason is nowadays viruses have become smarter
they delete the restore points too

even if u manage to delte the virus and all its traces u can still

undo the settings which it might have changed in ur PC because u dont know
where it might have made changes because the registry is very huge

eg. " U CANT VIEW HIDDEN FILES BECAUSE THE VIRUS CORRUPTS UR REGISTRY
SO THAT IT CAN HIDE ITSELF AS A HIDDEN FILE"

SYSTEM RESTORE ALLOWS U TO UNDO SUCH CHANGES BY VIRUSES

BUT RECENTLY THE VIRUS ARE SO SMART THAT THEY DELETE ALL THE RESTORE POINTS
so even if u remove the virus and try to undo the changes u cannot do that with SYSTEM RESTOR

i have noticed this pattern in the VIRUSES found lately

well first, regardless of weather system restore has been removed or not, that is not the correct way to remove any virus or spyware. the malicious software should be removed by using the appropriate software and not by using the system restore. if you take the appropriate steps of preventing and removing virus then there should be no need to use the system restore except for certain driver or installation issues. to assume that system restore is a alternative to having a sufficient anti-virus  that is updating regularly is wrong.

@ smittyboom

where in my post have i said that system restore is an alternative to anti- virus

anti virus is required to know wheter i am infected and alter me of the infection, delete the virus file

sometimes these viruses if undetected by AV infect ur system or

sometimes a virus infects u and then after the next update of the antivirus u realize that u had been

infected by a virus
so wat to do in this case u manage to delte the virus but it might have corrupted ur system so u need
to restore it back to a previous state when the system was not infected so
SYSTEM RESTORE IS VERY IMPORTANT AND YA BUT AT THE SAME TIME NOT AN ALTERNTIVE to ANTI VIRUS

i understand. and i guess the only replacement for a system restore would be a system backup. my only point was that if a virus has infected and has infected the restore system then you would not want to use the system restore in the first place. You can one of these products though.
-GoBack
-FirstDefense
-RestoreIt

Windows has a built in tool for backing up your system and you tell it to back up All The Information On This Computer. Weather it backs up the actual system restore i cannot answer. But this would give you a backup point that you could use to restore to. And it may actually back up the system restore but i am unsure of that.
