How do you reset the bios password on a thinkpad g40.
I need to know if there is any non hardware invasive way to reset the bios password on a thinkpad g40 laptop. It boots up to a lock icon on the screen and won't let you go any further unless you have the password. I don't think the hard drive is locked, because I can put it in another g40 and it boots up with no problems. So it is just the bios system passcode that is enabled. I have found info about how to make a circuit / jig that can you can use another computer and some software to read the current passcode, but have not found anything that you can use to reset it otherwise since it is stored in a eprom chip on the mother board.
