Hello primaims,

A BAS file stores the code in a VB6/VBA module, but it is stored as text, so you can open it using any
text editor (e.g., Notepad) or any word processor; indeed, any app that can open plain text files...

Regards,

Patrick

Bas files are normally Modules of a "Microsoft Visual Basic" Solution / Project. You can open the corresponding project by Microsoft Visual studio (Provided that you have selected to install the VB when installing visual studio).

Solution files have the extension of (*.sln)
Visual Basic Project files have the extension of (vbproj)

Try to see if any of the project or solution files exists along the (*.bas) file you want to open (search through the folder and parent folders). Then if exists you can open the solution / project and probably your (*.bas) file is listed in the solution explorer inside Visual Studio IDE.

If there is no solution / project files, you can still open the *.bas file standalone in the Visual Studio  IDE.
