Exchange 2007 CAS issue

I have a hidden mailbox, let's call it BRADMIN and we are using eFax to deliver fax messages as emails (obviously) the problem I have is that messages seem to get as far as the CAS but then never go any further.

any thoughts?

Is this issue only effecting BRADMIN?

Have you tested it with the user unhidden?

Have you reviewed the logs on the CAS?

Have you set the CAS to allow connections from the eFax server?  Or is the eFax software on the same server as CAS.

I think we know what is happening here actually, the eFax software is expecting to be able to effectively see the BRADMIN mailbox, and when it can't it re-queues the fax delivery, but of course that will never ever work, so in the end it just times out.

I am reviewing the logs on the CAS now, great suggestion!

we are going to test with the user unhidden next

the CAS will allow connections.

I agree that the hidden account is the most probable problem in this.  If I remember right in eFax can't you assign it an email address manually instead of having it do a look up on the AD server though LDAP?

That seems like the easiest solution, if it's possible.
