USB Modem on Vista not recognized

Hi all,
After a Vista re-install, my computer (LG R500) isn't detecting my USB modem (mobile broadband).

I can get it to install the mobile connect software, I can see the USB Modem as an external drive, but I can not install the drivers for the modem and they are not automatically installed. When I run the mobile connect software, it says that the wireless device is not found. This is strange, since it has always worked on every other computer.

I did the following:
* Checking device manager for any hidden modems, but didn't find
* I ran the installer from the modem itself again, but no effect

Any ideas?

best regards,

1 Solution
try going to the device manager
click on the modem in there
Update Driver
from the manuf's page, it seems it is not Vista compatible :  Windows 2000 and Windows XP Operating system
so use a compatible one...

ccpjc: The modem is not visible in device manager (see my description)

nobus: As I wrote, it used to work fine with my computer, before the re-install.

I believe there is something wrong with the modem, so I have sent it to repair, but thanks for your efforts to try to answer my question.

Best regards,
