Is it possible to use Recovery Discs from VGN-FE35GP to recover system of VGN-N11H ARE THEY COMPATIBLE?

My friend's Sony Vaio laptop will not start and his model is VGN-N11H, I've posted the question yesterday and the solution is to have the windows XP installation disc to reboot the system to use chkdsk  BUT the problem now is that he doesn't have any system recovery discs nor the XP cd since it doesn't come with a vaio.

So while I have a Vaio too but only a different model with system recovery discs, IS IT POSSIBLE TO USE THE DISCS CREATED FROM MY MODEL???

Tried looking it up on support page of sony..... couldn't find anything... hope someone could help!! :)  thanks!!!

I am not 100% on this but I would guess that they are not going to be compatible.  My guess is that they probably have different chipsets and therefore probably would not boot after you did the recovery.  

If you have to do a recovery anyway though try it and see what happens.  If it boots but just doesn't have the right drivers that should be easy enough to fix.
