Oracle Apex How to set up Select list with submit page item

I have an existing page that displays data for one location.   I need to revamp things and add multiple locations that will be in a select list with submit. so that when a location is chosen the page is resubmitted with the location chosens data.   All the queries are in pl/sql on an oracle database.

Thank you.

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

I am going from a static location of Michigan and we are adding another location in Indiana.   The default information on the page will be for Michigan.   I want the ability to pull down the drop down list for location and when I chose Indiana, the page is automatically refreshed with the data for the Indiana location.  I have the drop down already as a select list with submit but now I need to repopulate the data with the Indiana location chosen.   The data will be stored in an Oracle table.

how does your page know how to pull Michigan data?

I assume your report and chart regions have queries something like this?

select col1,col2, col3 from your_table where state_name = 'Michigan'

change that to

select col1,col2, col3 from your_table where state_name = :P20_STATE_CHOICE

where P20_STATE_CHOICE is the name of your select list item
