Reoccurring "do not delete" messages on Blackberry phone.

We have a blackberry phone that gets a few of these messages every day:

"This message is used to carry data between the BlackBerry handheld and an associated server. Please do not delete, move or respond to this message - it will be processed by the server."

These message have an attached .dat file and are sent by network@etp1105.etp.na.blackberry.net.  Another Blackberry messenger user has tried adding this phone to Blackberry Messenger.  Could this have anything to do with it?  Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix the issue so that these messages do not show up anymore?

Thank you
