I have a Windows XP development box with my Visual Studio 2008 on it.<br />

I want to also install IIS7. Where can I get this download? I thought it should be on my VS2008 disk, but it evidentally is not. All I'm finding says it is for vista, so I need something that will install to XP.<br />

I'd like to have IIS7 on my development box for testing etc.<br />

We do own Windows Web Server 2008, which includes IIS7, but I don't know that that would work for an install on my XP box?<br />

Installing IIS7 on Windows XP

Microsoft Windows XP is the sixth release of the NT series of operating systems, and was the first to be marketed in a variety of editions: XP Home and XP Professional, designed for business and power users. The advanced features in XP Professional are generally disabled in Home Edition, but are there and can be activated. There were two 64-bit editions, an embedded edition and a tablet edition.

IIS is Internet Information Services, the web server included with Windows Server operating systems. All current versions are built on a modular architecture; modules can be added or removed individually so that those required for specific functionality are installed. The full installation of IIS includes HTTP, security, content, compression, caching, logging and diagnostics.
