Outlook 2007 shared calendar will not remind others

Outlook 2007 shared calendar will not popup reminders for shared participants.  The author of the calendar receives the reminders; however, the shared participants do not.

Outlook reminders only work for your default Inbox, Tasks, and Calendar folder.  This cannot be changed.  To achieve the effect you're looking for is going to require a third-party program or a custom script.  For third-party programs I recommend checking Slipstick.com (http://www.slipstick.com/addins/index.htm).  They maintain a good list of third-party offerings.  I don't know if there is a third-party program that does this, but if there is, it's probably listed there.  Your other alternative is to write, have written, a script that monitors the shared mailbox and emulates a reminder.
