A Windows SharePoint site group could not be assigned

I have Sharepoint V3 running fine on an SBS2003 box. I created a site and then added the AD security group of 'Office Staff' to the 'Visitors' group within the site.

Since I did this I have no longer been able to use the New User Wizard within SBS 2003 to add new users who need to be members of security group 'Office Staff'.

I receive the following error message during creation:

" A Windows SharePoint site group could not be assigned"

Is there something I have missed which needs changing, security account between SBS2003 and Sharepoint V3 maybe?

Your help is grately apreciated.

Managed to establish that this was caused by an existing user with the same Display name in AD.
