NK2 missing

Somehow the original nk2 was replaced by another one. There is no copy of another file there. A quick history: User called me and said that she is trying to send an email to someone in the company, but the name is not resolving. I realized she was using an old GAB. So I took Outlook out of cached mode, and downloaded the new address book. Outlook was not receiving the latest addresses from the GAB while in cached mode, so I took it out of cached mode, downloaded the updates, then put it back in cached mode. Today, she is not getting the auto complete, and when I looked at the nk2 file, it was very small, even though it had a created date two years ago. The modified date is today. Can I get that original nk2 file back? What if I do a system restore, will that put the file back?

Hello xzay1967,

If NK2 has been updated, system restore will not get back the data.  If you want to auto complete addresses from GAB, then you need to enable Contacts Database As An Email Address Book in Outlook 2003. You may need to delete the old address book first.

For Outlook 2007, here is how to enable Contacts as Address Book

Hope this helps!
