Hello Experts,

I am relatively new to JS and having troubles installing it to my VB6 page.

I included following JS files to the the page:

<script src="Includes/JS/freerte_v1/js/richtext.js" type="text/javascript" language="javascript"></script>
<script src="Includes/JS/freerte_v1/js/config.js" type="text/javascript" language="javascript"></script>

But this obviously is not enough.
I know the installation should be fairly simple, but there are no "step-by-step" instructions for making FreeRTE to work.

If someone have used it, please, tell me what else do I need to do to make it work?

Thanks in advance!

By locking at the demo in the site you provided, it seems there is a third line required to initializes the editor as the two lines you have entered only include the java scripts to the page :

<!-- Include the Free Rich Text Editor Runtime -->
<script src="/freerte/js/richtext.js" type="text/javascript" language="javascript"></script>
<!-- Include the Free Rich Text Editor Variables Page -->
<script src="/freerte/js/config.js" type="text/javascript" language="javascript"></script>
<!-- Initialise the editor -->
<script>
initRTE('<i>This is some <b>preloaded</b> content</i>', '/freerte/examples/example.css');
</script>

remember to change the path : "/freerte/js/" to the path you have the js files stored in.

Please let me know if you need further assistance.

Thanks Adel87,

I already tried this, but RTE still wouldn't show up on my form for some reason.

I included all the JS files to my project and included them like this:

      <TD>
            <script src="Includes/JS/freerte/js/richtext.js" type="text/javascript" language="javascript"></script>
            <script src="Includes/JS/freerte/js/config.js" type="text/javascript" language="javascript"></script>
            <script>initRTE('<i>This is some <b>preloaded</b> content</i>', '/freerte/examples/example.css');</script>
      </TD>

I'm using Mozilla Web Developer Tools and it gives me an error: "initRTE is not defined". Does it mean it can't find "example.css"?

Will really appreciate any help.
