Hi,

I need to backup about 5GB of files daily over 2Mbps VPN WAN from server to server. I am looking for a software (paid or free) that can:

1. Daily incremental with catalogging - more network efficiency as there are over 2 million files
2. Bandwidth sensitive, throttling capability
3. Performs file compressions for WAN efficiency
4. Automated / schedule capability
5. Has logging and / or email notification

Anyone has recommendation for WAN Backups? Many thanks.

I like Acronis True Image for a number of reasons, mostly because it works very well. You can find it at:
http://www.acronis.com/
It even has throttling to control hard disk write speed and network bandwidth usage.
My most favorite features of some of there imaging products includes the ability to restore to a Virtual Image (so you can restore to a VM) and the ability to do either an image or a file by file backup, either with full incremental capability.
Fantastic product that I recommend to all of my clients!

Just a quick note to clarify what Acronis product you might select. Your choice will depend on the size of your company (Small & Medium Company or Large Enterprise) and the type of server you are using (Windows, Linux, etc).
For example, if you are a Small or Medium Business running a Windows server you would use one of these products:
 http://www.acronis.com/enterprise/products/ATISWin/
http://www.acronis.com/smb/products/ATISBS/
If you are a Large Enterprise and want to protect a Microsoft Exchange Server you would use this product:
http://www.acronis.com/enterprise/products/ARExchange/
They support a variety of different servers.

This program is very simple, but may do what you need.
