OS is Windows 2000 SP4 with all updates.

Default browser is Mozilla Firefox 3.0.3.

Default program for opening JPG & JPEG is Internet Explorer 6.0.2800.1106.

Adobe Photoshop CS2 is installed.

Miniature View in Windows Explorer DOES NOT show the picture, only a small IE icon.

I need to see the picture.

How can I solve this?

What happens when you change the  View to Thumbnails?

By any chance did you remove Microsoft Photo Editor?

When I change the view to thumbnails I see an empty thumbnail, with a small icon of the default opening program in it.
The MS Photo Editor is still installed.

I created the key as described in your link, and now I can see thumbnails!

Many thanks!
All my best!
