I have recently developed a time log which tracks time worked for a week. My problem is at the end of week time can be up or down i.e -15 min or 125. I need a way to convert the minutes to display as HH:MM
weather the time  IS - OR +. I have tries doing the conversion in SQL USING CONVERT OR CAST, problems arise when the time goes to negative. I am currently showing minutes only as <%=(Recordset1.Fields.Item("remaining").Value)%>

Try showing minutes this way:
(I added some variebles you might need Dim TotalMinutes, hours, minutes somewhere above this code)
<%
TotalMinutes = Recordset1.Fields.Item("remaining").Value
hours = cint(abs(TotalMinutes) / 60)
minutes = abs(totalminutes) - (hours*60)
if TotalMinutes < 0 then response.Write " - "
response.Write right("0" & hours, 2) & ":" & abs(minutes)

%>

Hi
Thank you for responding so fast.
Seems to work well if the result is < + or -1 hour . When the total minutes  are > + OR - I hour the result is not correct??? Example 90 Min shows 2:30??

Sorry, used wrong function to get integer part of hours:

hours = Int(abs(TotalMinutes) / 60)
