Problems installing server 2003 standard editiion
I was given 2 disks w/server 2003 install on them. I popped #1 into my Vista pc (perhaps my first error?) and it ran setup although a few files didn't install. However, popping in #2 gave me an error like "wrong edition"? Also, I have no internet connectivity. It is connected to a Belkin router, which is in turn connected to my cable modem. Any ideas? TY.
Did you tried to boot from the CD or you double clicked the install (setup.exe)? if you did the second that is your mistake
ASKER
If I remember correctly, I booted from the cd for disk #1. Not so for disk #2, which isn't working from the front-end.
please try booting from the second one
ASKER
I did but it just went to the standard login screen.

what is the best way to boot from cd?
The CD should be bootable,
second the best way is to make sure in Bios that the Cd has the priority in boot sequence, or just press F12 on startup and choose the CD rom to boot from
