what i need to do to configure smbauser so they can connect to from xp machine to the samba share on linux  ..

hi ,

   what i need to do to configure smbauser so they can connect  from windows xp machine to the samba share on linux  .I have created there accounts with the useradd command ...And created a samba share the doamin authentication is enable .The user were accidentley was remove from the server .I have since restore his account from the old /etc/passwd and /etc/shadow ..But the client still not able to login to the map drive on  his windows xp machine ...Can some one please let me know what else do i need to do to get thios to work . Thanks...

Run these two commands:

smbpasswd -a [username]

Sorry removed the second command since you've already put him back in the system database.

FYI the command was:
useradd [username]

The authentication is set to the Domain so they should be using the domain password .

this is what the /etc/samba/smb.conf file is set to ...do i still run the smbpasswd to reset the password
