Implementing CMMI and or 6 Sigma will lead to process improvements in the Software Delivery Life Cycle (SDLC) - these need to be mapped in order to determine which processes can be improved.

one more question if you don't mind,  is SDLC the umbrella of CMMI and 6 Sigma?

Thanks, I would consider SDLC to be the underlying process. Both CMMI and 6 Sigma are concerned with ensuring that project management throughout the software lifecycle is to the highest standard and is consistent, repeatable and measurable for all projects by ensuring that quality checks has been iplemented and institutionalized.
