Is it possible to use Quickbooks merchant account in Magento ecommerce shopping cart?
I want a Merchant account the integrates very well into Quickbooks. I am using Magento as an eCommerce solution. I am currently using a Quickbooks Merchant account to process credit cards because it is so well integrated directly into Quickbooks as I'm sure many of you already know. Here are the questions...
1. Can I use Quickbooks Merchant account in Magento without writing my own code? Is this possible, or is there a solution that anyone knows about?
2. Since Authorize.net is integrated into Magento... how well does it integrate into Quickbooks when compared to the Quickbooks merchant account?
3. Is there another solution out there that is better than both Authorize.net or a Quickbooks Merchant account?
Here are a few Magento/Quickbooks resources:
http://www.magentocommerce.com/magento-connect/list/p/6/ (list of Magento's payment gateways)
http://www.innovativegateway.com/carts.aspx (Quickbooks developer site and list of approved carts)

You did a great job in answering this, thank you. Can you expand just a tad more on this:
"http://www.e-onlinedata.com/ for the merchant account"Am I requied to have a merchant account in addition to authorize.net, is this a reseller for authorize.net, or is this a suggestion of an optional feature to authorize.net? I don't really get who they are and how they fit into the picture. I'm still learning this whole process.
You are welcome :)
You are already provided with a merchant account via Authorize.net - I was just posing a suggestion. Personally I would wait for the Magento plugin to come available and keep doing what you are doing for now.
Cheers,
Shek

Yes, I would like to wait as well but I am creating an online store for a client and they can't wait. I did find one thread somewhere that someone has QBMS working for them but they have not released the code. The other thing I worry about with a brand new extension is the support behind it. Once there are a number of other companies using it it's much more likely that it will have good support and I wouldn't have to wait a week for a fix :)
Thanks again for the awesome suggestion. Here is the best deal I've been able to find from the list of resellers on Authorize.net. What do you think of this company/business/bank?

$0.25 per transaction
$18.95 per month if no transactions are run
