how to stop AutoPlay in Flash movie?

Hi. I've published a Flash movie here:

http://www.foet.org/tir/gridweek4.html

You will note that it autoplays when the page loads.

However, in Publish Settings, under the HTML tab, I selected "Paused at Start".

Nonetheless, the movie plays when the page loads. How do I stop the autoplay?

I am using Adobe Flash CS3.

Obviously I am missing some kind of key step. I am really grateful for any advice. Thanks very much.

Eric

I apologize for leaving this question open for so long. I have been trying on my own to ascertain a solution. I am going to reencode the source video as an AVI file. Then I will see if Adobe Flash CS3 will let me apply a "Clear" skin to it. I'm grateful for any advice regarding this.

modus_operandi,

Thanks for your help.

I think I am just going to post the movie using the EMBED and OBJECT tags which will allow me to turn off autoplay.

I'll update here when I have done so.

Best from Eric

hi i don't know about the whole avi approach you're going with but in your original flash file, if you had a stop action in the movie on the first frame it should then not autoplay.

blue-genie,

Thanks for this reply. I will try to add a Stop action and let you know what happens.

I'll return here later.

All best,

Eric

hi, blue_genie,

I solved my problem, and you can see the Flash movies here: http://www.foet.org/tir/TIR_SmartGrids.html

I used the OBJECT and EMBED tags. I inserted this variable: &autoPlay=false

and that seems to have worked. Learn something new every day. =)

Thanks very much for your help.

Eric
