So i am new to the cisco world.
i have installed and cisco pix 501 in my house
i am looking for the steps to allow me to ping and traceroute from my box behind the FW
it found a help page at the cisco site that was way over my head.
i am hoping someone can give me baby step instructions on what i have to do.
either using the command line or the gui.

thanks for the help

Show Run = Shows Running config.

probably goign to need something like :
access-list (ACL#) permit icmp (sourceip) host (machineIp) echo

(ACL#) the acess list # your going to apply to the (machineip)
(Source ip) can be Any if you want anyone to be able to ping or the subnet or network ip of the network you want to be able to ping.
(Machine ip) should be the port you want to be pinged, so the port ip address of the pix i believe should work.

I think that should get you close or closer.
