I just replaced the toner cartridge in our HP LaserJet 9050 MFP.  When I check the printer status, it shows the toner level at 9% with 35 pages remaining.

How do I tell the printer that it has a new toner cartridge and have it reset the toner level?

thanks,

david

I have noticed the same thing. You can't do anything. Simply keep on using it. The printer will detect the proper setting after a few pages. I'm not sure how may but it always resets fro me..

This has happened to me once before and HP had me go into some administrative mode (hold down certain keys on power up) and then reset one of the settings.  I just couldn't remember which keys to hold down.  Either way, what you said is correct.  I came in this morning and the toner lever has been reset.

Thanks for the input.
