Citrix web client won't start when clicking on link in web portal

I  have about six users using citrix web client for a propriatry application. When they login to the web portal an click on the link it should come up with a box asking to open or save the .ica file. This works for five users but for the sixth he has to save the .ica file to disk and then click on it to start the application. The option to open the file just isn't there as with the others.

I have tried to install all forms of ICA client on this computer but cannot get applications to run on clicking them while in the web portal.

I've looked at internet options and made sure "do not save encrypted pages to disk" is checked.

Does anyone know what else I could try? I've made sure downloads are enabled and tried saving to different locations but to no avail.

Could anybody offer any advice?

could be a few things...try associating the ica with citrix.  make sure they have ica client as prefered client under connection options.  to see if its a security issue, put your csg address in the trusted sites list.

Try the following,
1. Save the ICA file to disk.  Close IE
2. Right click the file and select "Open With", "Choose Program".
3. From the list of applications, select "Citrix ICA Client Engine (Win32)".
4. Tick the box that says "Always use the selected program to open this kind of file".

Restart IE and try again. I'm also pretty sure that you need to have the "Do not save encrypted files to disk" box UN-ticked.

Have added to the trusted sites zone and right clicked on the .ica file and chose open with citrix web client. Not sure which one did it but it's now working as it should be. Thanks.
