Sent email stays on screen

Whenever I attach a file to an email and click send, the email sends but the message stays on the screen separate from Outlook's main window. I can click the X to close the window but it used to go away by itself.  How do I get this to start again?

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Which Version of Outlook is this?

If 2003 or 2007:

Does this happen when in Safe Mode?
Close Outlook and reopen by:
Start>Run>Outlook.exe /safe

Otherwise you might also try:
Start>Run>Outlook.exe /cleanprofile

Should also check you have the latest SP installed
Office 2003 SP3 for Outlook 2003
Office 2007 SP1 for Outlook 2007

it is Outlook 2007, not in safe mode.  This did not work either, Start>Run>Outlook.exe /cleanprofile.

If this doesnt happen when in safe mode then an Add-In is likley the cause:
Check Tools>Trust Centre>Add-ins

What Add-ins are listed?

Do you have the latest Office 2007 SP installed?
