I have over 1000 smtp connectors on my front-end exchange server

Why do I have over 1000 smtp connectors on my front end server? Yesterday I only had the one I have always had.

Thank you in advance

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Are they valid, or junk connectors?  Basically if they are duplicates of the primary I would try stopping the exchange services on the FrontEnd and then restart.  If that does not work, try recalculating the message routing.

They wer valid yesteray. Our routing settings were switched to DNS yesterday so a conenctor was created for each seppratae domain we emailed but they were switched back today. Shouldn;t Exchange delete the other connectors and keep just one, or do I have to delete them manually?
