Formview looks different during runtime than in design mode

I'm trying to create a Formview that has labels and text boxes placed throughout the form, not just in a column. The problem is twofold. One problem is the source code ends up almost unreadable due to all the ";nbsp" I have to put in to get the proper spacing and then when I run the page the  labels don't align with the text boxes like they do in design mode. Is there a better way to achieve the look I want? I do have Expression downloaded and am thinking I might try it but don't know if it will help or not. I don't have a lot of time to learn a product that might not help. Any ideas? Thanks.

Obviously this question was poorly written. I have given up on trying to design the formview in the manner I presented and will just hope to see a better way in the future.
