I know that some OS's use \n for a new line and some use \r.

Are there any other codes that are used for newlines on different OS's?

If you want your newline to be acceptable on the operating system you are using, use the PHP_EOL constant.

Apart from \n, \r and \r\n I'm pretty positive those are the only three new line characters.
